TRAINING PROGRAMS

 

This spring, join Fleet Feet Sports and New Balance to walk or run your first 5k. The No Boundaries program focuses on beginners, but all levels of walkers and runners are welcome. The program is structured to help you cross the finish line of your first 5k in less than three months. Along the way we’ll be providing you with motivation to keep you moving, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs or walks, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. Plus you’ll have the camaraderie of others just like you!

As part of the experience, program participants will receive the following:

• A complete 12 week training program and calendar with detailed workouts provided.
• Weekly coached training sessions
• Informational clinics on proper footwear, injury prevention, and nutrition.
• Weekly e-mail from the coach with tips, advice and motivation/encouragement.
• Dedicated support from the coach to answer individual questions.
• Weekly group runs available from fleet feet sports.
• Special shopping night.
• New Balance technical t-shirt and jacket.

What is the goal of the program?

Our goal is to help you become more fit, and make the 10 weeks as educational, inspirational and fun as possible for you. The program is a slow, steady progression and should be achievable for anyone who is currently able to walk continuously for 30 minutes comfortably.

Exercise and being an active person is not about the numbers on the scale, the tape measure or the clothing size. It is about getting stronger both physically and mentally, building self confidence, and feeling good on the inside and outside. It’s about having fun, being in touch and comfortable with your body, feeling energized, making new friends, and achieving a goal of running or walking a 5k, and feeling how great the accomplishment is.

What will be expected of me?

When you join No Boundaries, you have committed to a personal fitness goal and to truly reap the benefits of the program (and to improve your endurance your body needs consistence so, it is very important that you show up to practice and to the prescribed exercises.

I’ve never run before, will I be able to participate?

Yes! The majority of No Boundaries participants consider themselves minimally active prior to joining No Boundaries and 27% of participants had never run a day in their lives before starting the program.
